Upcoming Fundraisers this year

Teacher Appreciation Week

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help with flower sales on Friday, February 17th.  5th grade will pre sell flowers for the students to give to the staff.  Anyone available to help will need to arrive at 7am and report to the cafeteria. Students will arrive at 7:15am to pick up there orders. Bring your gardening gloves if you have them. The more the merrier!!   Please email Jennifer Reece if you can help.

Family Dance – February 24th
 WE NEED BAKED GOODS TO SELL AT THE FAMILY DANCE.  This is a fundraiser for our 5th grade students and their end of the year activities.   Items will need to be individually wrapped.   The dance will be held at McClure Middle School and will begin at 6:30pm. IF you can bring your baked goods to McClure, please have them there by 6:00pm.  You can also drop items at Due West anytime during the school day on Friday the 24th.
We will also need parents to help work the concession tables. We would like 2 parents per shift. The following shifts are available.
6:00 – 7:00pm set up/sales
7:00 – 8:00pm sales
8:00 – 9:00pm sales/clean up

  • Mixed Bag Designs was a huge success for last year’s 5th grade class so we are going to host again this year for the entire school.  Visit their website www.mixedbagdesigns.com for information about their eco-friendly products.  Online ordering has now begun so all your friends and relative out of state can place orders as well.  All sales for 5th grade will be tracked separately to help pay of our end the year events.  Upon checkout, type 66631 in the “School/Fundraiser ID#” field.  Please be sure to enter the student’s name that referred you to this fundraiser in the “Referred By” field for them to receive credit.  Due West PTA will receive 40% of all online sales.  Thank you for your continued support of our school.  If you have any questions please contact the Fundraiser Chair.
  • Chick Fil A biscuit sales will be handled by our 5th grade committee this year. We will need volunteers to help on Tuesday mornings beginning at 7:15am – 7:45am.  Biscuit coupons will be pre sold to help cut down on the handling of cash. We will have 27 Tuesdays to sell so the more volunteers we can get the less often we will need each person.  Please email Jennifer Reece if you can help.  Chick Fil A Biscuits Order Form

Some things the 5th Grade Committee will be working on this year:

  • A service project to be completed by the students:  This could possibly be a letter writing campaign or raising awareness of a concern important to them.

5th Grade Upcoming Events

5/4 – Chattanooga Field Trip
5/10 – Talent Show at Lost Mountain – Start planning your performance.  More details to follow
5/18 – Varsity lunch/Kickball game against Staff
5/21 – Bowling at Brunswick Bowling on Barrett Parkway
5/23 – Graduation rehearsal
5/24 – Last Day of School – 5th Grade Graduation!

The 5th grade committee is getting the end of year events nailed down with the administration and teachers.  Keep checking the 5th grade page on the Due West PTA website for updates.
