1. Meet with your teacher as soon as possible after the start of the school year regarding his/her expectations and ideas for the year.
2. Coordinate Fall Festival – including: parent volunteers, donations, and silent auction baskets.
3. Coordinate volunteers to assist with teacher appreciation week, holiday gifts and celebrations, Red Ribbon Week door decorating and any additional activities requested by your teacher or the administration.
4. Communicate with parents in your classroom regarding all of the aforementioned activities by sending previously approved form letters home with each child in your classroom as well as phone calls to parents if needed. If you change the form letters or write your own you must have the letter approved by Susan Piotrowski and Mrs. Hanaur before you send it out to parents. Email your letter to Susan Piotrowski president@duewestpta.com first. Once she has approved it, you can email to Mrs. Hanauer principal@duewestpta.com. Blue paper is available in the PTA room for you use to make copies.
5. Recognize your teacher on his/her respective birthday (a card would be fine) and during Teacher Appreciation Week.
