Student Enrichment Request Form

Examples from the 2008-2009 School Year:
The Mad Scientist team provided programs for several grades. The first grade students built a food chain pyramid and made models of food chains. The team was very busy in the second grade. We supported their study of energy and simple machines by building simple machines with legos that were able to do work, including shooting marshmallows at targets. To further the second grade study of stars and constellations we provided a lesson on the characteristics of stars, reading star charts and using them to locate constellations in the night sky. The third grade students got their hands dirty dissecting owl pellets and using them to further their study on habitats and nature. The final activity the mad scientist team provided was frog dissection. The In-School Enrichment committee was able to provide frogs for the 4th and 5th grade target classes. Our Mad Scientist team then led the dissection.  Questions regarding Student Enrichment Activities -contact kdivelbiss@bellsouth.net.

PRODUCTION LAB HELP FROM THE PTA

There is a group of great volunteers who would like to be able to help you cut, copy, color, or laminate during the school year.  Please place your project, with simple instructions and a ‘needed by date’ in the blue basket in the production lab labeled ‘To be completed’.  We would like to work with you however we can to help.   We will have someone checking the Production lab box about 3 times a week – usually, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.   When your items are complete, we will put them in the ‘Completed basket’ – which is right under the ‘To be Completed’ basket.

If you have any suggestions how we can help you better, please pass them along by placing them in the file labeled ‘Production Lab’ in the teacher’s lounge.

The production lab is located next to the library and Mrs. Stigall’s office – the room with the printer and laminating machine.
